our commitment
At Greta Anderson, every piece is made in Britain using sustainable and natural materials wherever possible, sourced as close to home as possible.
There is no such thing as perfect in sustainability, but our ultimate aim is to become a 'leave-no-trace' company, so we are always looking to find new sustainable suppliers.
We believe luxury and responsibility go hand in hand. When you choose Greta Anderson, you are choosing a dressing gown made with care for the planet and crafted with integrity.

Our Materials
We work with 100% European linen produced in a small mill in Lithuania. Our linings are made from cotton and tencel, which is made from wood pulp. We use deadstock organza silk from France, buttons made from surplus Irish milk and mask inners made from 100% British wool. Our labels are made from organic cotton with soy based inks and our packaging is recyclable and produced in Europe. We also use eco-elastic made from natural rubber.
We also use poly-cotton piping, which does unfortunately include plastic. We have been unable to source a natural alternative but will not stop trying. It's been a real eye-opener just how deeply ingrained unsustainable materials are in the fashion industry supply chain.

WHY LINEN?
Linen is a natural fibre made from the flax plant, renowned for its breathability and durability. We choose linen for its exceptional quality and minimal environmental impact. Flax requires significantly less water and fertiliser and fewer pesticides than other natural fibres, making it one of the most sustainable choices for clothing. It is biodegradable, recyclable and, due to its natural absorbency, requires less dye than cotton.
Even better, linen is breathable, naturally stain resistant, moth repellent, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
Linen also improves with age, developing a lovely lived-in character with timeless appeal.
The versatility of linen makes it perfect for any season - lightweight and cooling in summer, layered warmly in winter. Investing in quality linen means choosing pieces that will last for decades, reducing the need for constant replacement and supporting a more thoughtful approach to fashion.
